Individual therapy

Weekly individual therapy gives you a regular place to talk about the loss honestly, including the parts you haven't shared with anyone else.

I work with women in New York State navigating:

  • Miscarriage, including missed miscarriage, chemical pregnancy, and recurrent pregnancy loss
  • Stillbirth and neonatal death
  • TFMR (termination for medical reasons)
  • Infertility, IVF treatment, failed transfers, and secondary infertility
  • Traumatic birth and birth injury
  • NICU stays and their aftermath
  • Carrying a pregnancy after a terminal or life-limiting diagnosis
  • Grief following abortion or an adoption decision
  • Pregnancy after loss

55 minutesWeekly$500 per session

A monthly superbill is generated and emailed to you to support out-of-network insurance reimbursement. After claim submission and reimbursement, most clients net well under $300 per session.

EMDR for reproductive loss and trauma

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of the most researched trauma treatments available. It is well suited to the experiences on this page, from miscarriage and stillbirth to failed IVF cycles, TFMR, NICU stays, and traumatic birth, because these memories are often stored as images, sounds, and physical sensations, like an ultrasound screen or a phone call.

EMDR helps your brain process those memories so they become less intense.

We don't start there. First we build stability and coping skills so that processing feels manageable. You set the pace and can pause at any time.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Most women have mixed feelings about a loss, which can make it hard to talk about.

Part of you may still be grieving. Part of you may be angry at your body, a doctor, or a friend who got pregnant easily. Part of you may be afraid to hope again, another part keeps you functioning at work, and another may believe the loss was your fault.

IFS helps you understand each of these reactions without judging any of them, so they stop pulling against each other.

My method

The Careful Confrontation™ Method

Careful Confrontation™ is how I respond when you minimize what happened.

When you tell me the worst thing that has ever happened to you in the voice of someone reading a weather report, I will stop you and name it. When you say "it was early" or "at least we know I can get pregnant" or "other people have it worse," I'll gently point it out.

I do this with care. The point is to help you take your own experience seriously.

It's also paced. I won't push you into anything you're not ready for.

Radical Pause

Noticing when you're about to say "I'm fine" to make someone else comfortable, and choosing whether to say it.

Radical Presence

Staying with difficult moments, like a baby shower invitation, a due date, or a pregnancy announcement, instead of pushing the feelings away.

Radical Possibility™

Deciding what comes next, whether that's another pregnancy, another path to parenthood, or a different life than you planned, and making that choice on purpose.

How sessions work

All therapy is conducted on a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. I can provide therapy only to clients who are physically located in New York State at the time of their session.

If you are outside New York, I am not able to offer therapy services to you at this time. Postpartum Support International (postpartum.net) offers a free helpline at 800-944-4773, free online support groups that include pregnancy loss, and a directory of perinatal mental health providers. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or call 911. The PSI helpline is not an emergency service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it too late to get help for a loss that happened years ago?

No. Unprocessed grief does not expire. Women often seek support five, ten, or twenty years after a loss, sometimes because a new pregnancy, a milestone, or a death in the family has brought it back up.

I had an early miscarriage. Does that count?

Yes. Early losses can be deeply painful, and many women feel they aren't allowed to grieve them, which can make the grief harder.

Do you work with women who had a TFMR?

Yes. Termination for medical reasons combines grief with a decision no one should have to make. You made the most loving choice available to you. You won't be judged here, and you won't have to justify it.

Can I come while I'm still in IVF treatment?

Yes. You can begin therapy during an active IVF cycle, while trying again, or while pregnant after a loss. Support during these stretches can matter as much as support afterward.

Do you take insurance?

I am a private-pay practice. You will receive a monthly superbill for out-of-network reimbursement.

Do you work with partners or couples?

My current practice is individual therapy. If couples work is indicated, I will help you find a clinician who specializes in it.
